Nilagdaan ngayong araw ni Mayor Marcy Teodoro ang mga ordinansang magbibigay kaluwagan sa mga naghahanapbuhay sa Lungsod ng Marikina.
Ang Ordinance 139, Series of 2023 o ang ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE PERIOD FOR THE RENEWAL OF BUSINESS PERMIT WITHOUT SURCHARGES AND PENALTIES at Ordinance 140, Series 2023 o ang ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR FULL BUSINESS PERMIT AND BUSINESS TAX EXEMPTION FOR SARI-SARI STORES AND CARINDERIA IN MARIKINA CITY FOR THE TAX YEAR 2024.
Ang pagpapalawig ng extension sa renewal ng business permit hanggang Marso 31, 2024 sa halip na Enero 20, 2024 ay naglalayong mabigyan ng sapat na oras ang mga naghahanapbuhay upang makapagproseso ng kanilang business permit nang walang inaalalang babayarang multa at dagdag na singil.
Samantala, ang exemption ay taun-taong ibinibigay ng Pamahalaang Lungsod sa mga kwalipikadong sari-sari stores at carinderia upang makabawi at makapagbigay-kaluwagan sa mga maliit na namumuhunan sa Marikina.
Ang mga kwalipikadong sari-sari store at carinderia ay kinabibilangan ng:
- mayroong start-up capital (paunang puhunan) na hindi hihigit sa ₱10,000 o
- may taunang benta na hindi hihigit sa Ph₱180,000
- hindi nagbebenta ng sigarilyo o/at alak
Isa ang Business Permit and Business Tax Exemption sa sari-sari stores at carinderia sa mga prayoridad ni Mayor Marcy noong siya ay manungkulan bilang Punong Lungsod.
Taong 2017 noong unang naisakatuparan ito at taun-taon ay pinagsisikapan ng Pamahalaang Lungsod na maipatupad ito.

Extended muli hanggang sa January 31, 2023 (Martes) ang deadline ng assessment at pagbabayad ng business tax para makapag-renew ng business permit ngayong taon.
Ito ay alinsunod sa Pasig City Resolution No. 9-11, s. 2023. Sa ilalim ng nasabing resolusyon, hindi magkakaroon ng penalties at surcharges* ang business owners na makakapagpa-assess at bayad ng business tax sa loob ng extension period.
Hinihikayat ang mga business owner na magpa-assess at magbayad na ng business tax bago pa o hanggang sa Martes dahil ito na ang huling extension ng business renewal period. Ang hindi makakapagpa-renew sa itinakdang extension ay mapapatawan na ng penalty pagtungtong ng February 1.
*Ang hindi pagkakaroon ng penalties at surcharges ay applicable lamang sa businesses na walang delinquencies.

Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) 2023 is extending its operations until January 31, 2023. This will allow business owners to pay their business taxes without incurring a penalty.
Ordinance No. 17 of 2023 extended the deadline for payment of local business taxes and fees due to the city government of Taguig. The City Council noted the increased volume of businesses renewing the permits this year.
However, business owners must have filed their papers for evaluation and assessment of business tax and regulatory fees by January 20 at 5:00 PM, at one of the two convenient locations: the newly opened Convention Center in the New City Hall Building or the SM Aura Satellite Office.
All submissions for evaluation and tenders of payment made between January 20 to January 31 shall not incur penalties or interest. All billing statements issued from the beginning of the year will remain valid until January 31.
But all billing statements not paid within the extended deadline of payment will automatically be cancelled, and will have to be rebilled to reflect statutory penalties and interests.
The City of Taguig advises business owners to take advantage of this extension. For more information, business owners may reach the concerned office through the following numbers:

Lazatin asks Council to extend business tax payment deadline
ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. is strongly urging the City Council to extend the business tax payment for the permits renewal of existing business establishments without penalties from January 21 until March 31, 2022.
In his letter to the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod led by Vice Mayor Vicenta Vega-Cabigting, he is asking to pass a Resolution for the two-month extension, also mentioning the temporary lockdown of some city government offices involved for the payment due to the pandemic.
Mayor Lazatin said this initiative is to also help local businesses recover in the new normal setting, as they are one of the hardest hit sectors because of the pandemic.
“Ngayon pa lang po nagpapasalamat na po tayo kina Vice Mayor Vega-Cabigting at sa mga miyembro ng City Council dahil alam po nating kaisa natin sila sa hangaring matulungan ang mga namumuhunan dito sa siyudad,” Lazatin shared.
In fact, Katlen Gozum, Business Permit and Licensing Division — Business One Stop Coordinator, shared during her interview at the Lingkod Bayan on Thursday, January 6, there are already 2,000 applicants for business permits in just three days.
“Mataas na bilang po ito kumpara sa first week ng renewal po last year,” Gozum said.
The Business Permit and Licensing Division led by Head Evangeline Malonzo has been regularly inspecting business establishments in the city, in order to ensure that safety and health protocols are being observed.
Malonzo stressed the importance of conducting these regular inspections, as instructed by Mayor Lazatin.
“Kahit gusto nating makabawi yung mga kababayan natin sa business sector, hindi pa rin dapat nawawala yung pag-iingat natin dahil may COVID-19 pa rin sa siyudad,” Malonzo said.
